British Radio Calls

Okay,
I have all of the BRI radio calls in my sound\radio folder.

Why are my British pilots not speaking?
DD73

Yes and no.

I have the country.cfg that basically has all of the countries listed.

I have the British UIRES set and I believe it alters the country.cfg.

Mine has Britain as country 1 with BRI as the abreviation.

Do the Radio chatter use the US country entry. If so then that would explain why you don't hear them. I use to know how to fix it. As of right now I forget. Its a matter of renaming or redirecting what uses the Radio chatter. Without looking at it I can't be certain.

Look along those lines and see what you find.

Lee,

The missions need to make sure they are aligned to the proper allegiance. In addition, you want to make sure that the country.cfg looks like this...

[country.1]
name=Great Britain
short_name=BRI
nationality=British
heading=oclock

The short name must correspond to the nationality. If it is "USA," then it will use the default American sounds.

The same is true for the German, Australian, French, Spanish, and Italian radio calls. They all need to follow the same format. (GER, AUS, FRA, SPA, ITA)

In addition, the MISC_DATA section of each .dp file need to have the proper allegiance for the proper radio calls to be heard using the aircraft in Mission Builder.

[MISC_DATA]
unit_family=2
category=5
allegiance=2
max_group_size=8
min_speed=90
cruise_speed=335
max_speed=360
min_alt=50
cruise_alt=3000
max_alt=5800
entered_service=1/1/38
crew=8

The above is for the Fw-200 Kondor, and with the German radio calls installed, I get German radio calls if I were ever to use this behemoth in Quick Combat. The same idea applies for using the aircraft in Mission Builder.

Okay,
I checked all of my British aircraft DPs.
All are BRI allegiance=1.

All of my missions are British.

My country.cfg is BRI as 1.

My sounds\radio files have the appropriate bri*.gvr/gvt/gvi.

I am going to go to my storage HD and reinstall the British radio files and see if that solves the issue.:dizzy::banghead::dizzy:

Was that an Xp box ? the reason I ask is I lost the fx files for bullet , strike ,
smoke puff on land and water plume , water contact , and I went to fx file list to check if they had been Eaten by gremlin,s ,, Nope still there !!
Retested again and Xp displayed both files as normal ,, Seemed like Xp lost the link to fx files ,, My opening the file was all I did ,, Never had the problem again --- Twylight zone fix I guess ,,

Sarg W.,

It came from the factory as an XP but I have upgraded it a few times. It is now a WIN 7 X 64 on one HD and WIN 7 X 32 on the other.

My new sound and vid cards did not like XP.

I loved XP for CFS2, didn't see anything wrong with XP that needed fixin'.

We have one laptop with WIN 7 X 64 and the other with WIN 8.1 X 64.

I never have been able to get 8.1 to work properly for my granddaughter's laptop. It is slow and glitchy.
