Building trick for aircraft builders

I have just discovered this new trick (may be you knew this already).

If you put a big black box in front of the VC, remove all the VC gauges, you can capture a real nice 2D cockpit panel.

Here is a sample view of the AW BF-109G6 version 1.10 2D cockpit panel captured using this method. This new update will be available soon.

Never done a black box. I go to free flight and use Slew to look at the sky or ocean. Screen cap it and use the Magic Wand tool to cut out the sky or ocean.

It just thought of one other solution. If you make all the clouds solid black, you can create a 2D cockpit panel for every aircraft in your CFS2 inventory.

I actually have been doing things the same way Allen has. If you set the cloud density to very high, the chances are pretty good you will get a very light gray or light blue background outside the cockpit and GIMP does a pretty good job with colour selection with proper thresholds to set it all to background black.
My VC views don't tend to be very good, so it doesn't work as well as yours do, but it beats the heck out of nothing.
There have been cases where I put together a specific VC panel for this purpose even though it would not appear in the final model.

A,
Thanks for that, with your way you don't have to cut out or replace the sky/clouds etc

Cheers
