C-123 Provider

The C-123 used Pratt & Whitney R-2800 engines, so I would suggest looking for some freeware sets, like those for the F4U Corsair. Just make sure you get a set with an electric starter sound, there is a set (primarily for the CFS users) that uses a cartridge starter sound. I used a few different R-2800 sounds to cobble together a set when I was using the C-123 in FS9.

You can use the sound files of the Pratt&Whitney R2800 piston engines from the similar engined Martin B26 Marauder "Hitch Hiker" released by David Eckert, R.L. Clark,Paul Roberts for Fs2004.

or the Canadair CL215 which uses the exact same sound files as the above (by permission)

or the CL-215 sound config (cl215snd3.zip at avsim) that reworks the sound file of the SOH teams Douglas A-26 Invader of Milton Shupe and the Sim-Outhouse Team, made by David C. Copley.

You could rip the sounds from some of the CalClassics (www.calclassic.com) aircraft, like the DC-6 or so. I think they had 2800s.
That' was a good call. . .they both used the R2800-Double Wasp engines. Assuming that what the DC-6 is using actually sounds correct to begin with, they may not be the exact match for what I need, but close enough.:salute:

I'm pretty sure the CalClassics guys use at least appropriate sounds judging from the attention to detail they put into their models. ;)

Falcon, by chance do you still have those custum conversion files you had uploaded on page 1 please?

Let me look around. . . .true to form I can not find it in our downloads section, even though in an earlier post I made mention of the fact that "Douglas" had already posted it. I may have moved it off to a DVD so I'll see what I can find. If nothing else, I'll just zip up what I have that I'm currently flying and send you that.:salute:
