C-46 Commando....gauges are no shows

I have the C-46 Commando by Libardo Guzman García installed. The gauges are placed in the gauges folder and in the panel folder....but the gauges are no shows in 2D and VC view. If I open the panel config file in my panel editor program thingie (FS Panel Studio), the gauges show up just fine...but in sim they do not show up. Any thoughts on why this is so? I have been scratching my head over this for a while and have not been able to fix this situation.

Only thing I can think of off the top of my head is making sure you have the default douglas_dc3.cab and Beech_Baron.cab, copied and moved to the main Gauges folder.

I reinstalled the Commando, dropped in the fix files, and all the gauges are now working.....must have been a ghost in the machine.

I was gonna say that it worked fine for me during development and ever since.

Hi,

Just a reminder.

If you are using the C-46 for military operations, you need to change the aircraft.cfg file to:

critical_altitude=7000 ;0 is demilitarised to FAA requirements

The default FD are set for domestic US operations, where the high supercharger was disconnected.

This is typically true of C-46's in South America as well.

Hope this helps,

I tried to recreate a specific flight across the Andes carrying (my estimation of) a load of race horses, and the normally aspirated R2800s could not do the job.

I also know C-46s used to make regular beef runs up to La Paz from lower Bolivian grazing lands well into the 1980s. I can't imagine they were able to get up there without the aid of the supers.

These are just speculations on my part. If anyone has specifics, I'd enjoy hearing about them. Other than simulating China Doll in Camarillo, I prefer flying with the critical altitude set to 7000 as tg suggests. The beast seems awfully anemic without the boost.

Hi,

Sorry, I meant that the S American C-46's typically HAD the high superchargers connected.

BTW, even the US C-46's were supercharged. But they were two speed blowers (low and high gear ratios), and the high setting was banned by the FAA.
