CAC-Boomerang repaints

Morton

Charter Member
A couple of repaints for Akemi's Boomerang. Hastly put together by using camo texture bits from other RAAF aircrafts. So panel lines etc are not 100% historically correct. (but they look nice..)
I expect(hope) other SOH members will be tempted to add more paints to this little wonderful AC by Akemi.

That didn't take ya very long....Good work, Morton! :ernae:

Must be getting cold up there in Lappland. :snowman:

me to Jagdflieger..

What do you mean Lappland!? :d I must be more than 1000 km away from north Finland! (but yes, it's getting colder..)

Yeppers, I see 4 more Boomers coming into my hangar!

Since MB doesn't like multiple skins, I always make each a separately named aircraft.

In pops another install of the PTO!:salute:

...........:ernae:STRUTH!!! nice paints MK:ernae:

Brilliant - definitely getting these.

Anyone other than me observe that this plane seems to fly fast? I was able to sustain well over 200kts in tight turns against A6M5s, and overall fighting better in this plane than I did in the Hellcat. Enemy is set to Ace level, my guns set to normal damage.

It just didn't seem to be the slow little plodder that my reading on this plane suggests ... not a complaint, of course, just curious.

Delta_lima,

I found that as well. I was gonna crack open the airfile and take a peek.

Cool Rami ... if the real plane performed like this model does in it's current form, the Aussies could have single-handedly won the Pacific war, with no further aircraft development from any of the other Allies, just thousands upon thousands of Boomerangs ... :icon_lol:

Morton, thanks again - Sinbad is my favourite mount. Going to install the AVG, then use your utility to alter the plane mix, and this little guy will definitely be a part of the setup.

cheers,

dl

Lovely work Morton. Thank you very much. Nice to see the Aussie English of my grandfather's and father's generations getting an airing...struth!!

Those schemes look brilliant! Sweet job. :)

The Boomerang was, from memory, the only combat operational fighter never to score a single kill.

Very nice work, thank you. Any chance of someome doing "Phooey" with Donald Duck? Only asking because that's the model I have in my display cabinet :)

Strafing_run, do you have any links to some good profile pictures etc? (if someone already has started on that one, I'll back off and try to finish some of my half finished repaints instead :icon_lol:. I have too many of them)
