I was hoping that someone might have a picture of the Confederate Air Force 'flag-and-bar' roundel that was applied to the left side of the aircraft. I think it would be rather nice for skinning. Thanks in advance.

Over on Simmerspaintshop.com, there is a section where you can download multi-layered Photoshop files with national insignia, rondels, squadron insignia, and on and on. I am sure that there is a set for the CAF included in one of those collections.

OBIO

Took a look...the CAF marking set is part of the Multi Grouped National Markings V1.2 collection.

Hi Guys,

Do you mean something like this?

regards Rob.

Source for my idea of how it looks Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commemorative_Air_Force#Markings

In line with the tongue-in-cheek nature of the CAF, restored airframes of US origin would bear traditional US 'star-and-bar' roundel markings on their fuselage starboard side, and on the port side a Confederate 'flag-and-bar', where the flag of the Confederate States replaces the star in the center of the roundel.
Exceptions to this are the replicated Japanese aircraft of the "Tora! Tora! Tora!" group, and German aircraft.
The practice has since not been continued after the CAF's voluntary name change, though it remains part of their humorous legacy.
