• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Good Day Gentlemen,
It seems that we now have more new players coming on board and their importance as members of our community is heightened by the imminent release of Phase 3. Previously, we enjoyed the luxury of a huge library of posted information to direct them to and to help them with a myriad of situations. Now, we don't have that library, but the information is still out there. So, I call on all the OFF vets out there to post something they think can be of use to new players, especially in the realm of graphics settings, hardware specs, performance problems, etc. Actually, any hints and tips would be useful even if it's already been posted.

I would think these should all be posted to the sticky OFF tips and cheats, though I think the title should be changed or a new sticky made. I'll leave that up to the moderators.

Thank you all.:ernae:

It may help if there were two stickies, one for XP users and one for Vista users. I have noticed that it sometimes gets confusing when the tips for the two operating systems are all in the same place.

I also run XP and have a bunch of stuff for Phase 2 stored. I made up an instruction manual (with pictures) for installing OFF in XP and it includes the dreaded msstdfmt.dll instructions, based on a complete, successful, installation. I've also got a lot more and I have no problems with sharing it with one and all. I can't advise on Vista as I have never used it.

Hmmmm. I just loaded OFF2 from a DVD and started it up. Did I miss something? (I recall that the DVD had some fix already incorporated in it)
