Campaign mission and question.

First - Campaign Mission. Flying for RNAS 8 in 10/1916, flew transfer from St Pol to Vert Galant. Completed successfully, even hit all the waypoints and got the accompanying message. Entry in logbook. Did notice, that after last waypoint rest of flight turned east and headed towards the fron even though there was no waypoint for it. I went ahead and landed. Second mission, same day, was the same transfer. This time, I let the mission start and ended it right away. I have posted jpg of my logbook showing both transfers and on the same day but different times. After that, missions proceeded apace. Just wanted to give you all a heads up in case it's a bug. Did not happen the first time I flew this same campaign previously.

Question: What's the difference between Alternate target and Optional flight. I know what optional flight does and alternate target appears to do the same thing.

Thanks

"Optional flight" is for use before flight; when you're at the briefing and map. You might not want to fly so long and choose a shorter.
"Alternate target" sounds like something to decide "in flight" (but that's guesswork, as I never used it yet).

If you have an airfield attack mission, then 'optional flight' will cycle through the various airfields until you find one that suits you, as we know from Phase 2.

Hitting 'alternate target' will switch to something besides airfields, like railyards. Or at least it seems that way on the few times I have tried it.
