Do a/c 'spawn' throughout a mission, or is everything that's going to be airborne generated right at the start?

No aircraft spawn in Phase 3.

They are all real planes on real missions all mission long.

This is, IMHO, one of Phase 3's biggest improvements over earlier versions.

Ok, let me re-phrase it.

Do a/c take off from airfields continuously throughout the mission, or does everything that's airborne take off at the start of the mission and then that's it?

:caked:

They take off at their own times to do their missions all during your flight. Use the radar and labels as you fly near fields and you can see it happening. They usually don't show up on radar until they've got some alt, but you'll see all the bogey labels taking off and forming up.

Yay! Excellent stuff. It's a proper "living breathing world" then, innit. :)

I believe that also explains the periodic fps hit that happens for no apparent reason. Nice to know it's buying good stuff. :)
