Hi All

Apologies If I've asked this before but I Found this old Alpha Vulcan B1 over at flightsim that would be great for an AI project I'm planning but no matter what i do I can't get it to show up in fs9 even in the aircraft list, as it gives me an invalid model format complaint. (not the disable options one) what confuses me is this that I have the fs98 version on disk and that used to work fine in fs98 but now that wont work in that sim either? any ideas?

Any help here would be great

Hooky, I don't know if this would fix it , but add the following to the aircraft cfg ( there wasn't an entry in the [fltsim.xx] part ) ....

ui_manufacturer=Avro
ui_type=Vulcan B1
ui_variation= ..... what ever

Hope that helps.

Pete.

That error, along with the original release date of early 2002 tells me that you may not be able to make it work in FS9.Most models I've seen compiled with the FS2002 SDK would work, at least to some degree in FS9, but if this was made with an even earlier SDK, it may not work at all. although I have been known to be wrong now and then...

Does anybody know if Doug Shield is still working on the Vulcan prototype & B1; there was a lot of talk about it at CBFSIM last year, but it went quiet (and I don't really go there anymore).

that project stalled due to work commitments I believe. From what i could gather from the forum there's no telling when or if he'll be in a position to finish it. Doug released a source file which i still have for it since he was having trouble compiling it for fs9 but I don't know what to do with it.
