can anyone explane

SOH-CM-2025
Can anyone explane the difference between ,mesh, landclass, photographic scenery and just scenery and what should be installed first and where in the scenery libary they should,be located? Do you need all types ? I think there may be other type like flatten scenery and maybe others.
Other than ocean flatten files, which I have over any water scenery and trying to keep country scenery together (not been real succsessful at that),I think I have mesh under regualer scenery.
What is compatable with what? Thanks(sorry about the spelliing)

A mesh defines the shape of the terrain (mountains, valleys etc...).
A landclass defines the type of the terrain (forest, deserts, cultivated fields, city, village etc...).
A scenery is a pack that can eventually contain a mesh and a landclass, but also specific objects to be placed somewhere on the terrain.
A photoscenery is a scenery which replaces the ground textures by aerial photos, like what you can see on Google Maps. Since it is a scenery, it can also contain a mesh, a landclass, and some objects.

The order in the library.... well, usually when you apply a scenery, you just need to put it on top of other sceneries. The order is important ONLY when you install several sceneries that modify the same place. The most precise things must appear on top of the things that make more general changes. For example, you want to install a scenery that modifies a city of a country on top of the scenery that brings a landclass for the whole country.

Thanks Daube

Than you for a very good discription of the verious types of scenery.Generally are they all compatable with each other as long as you put them in the right order in the scenery libary?

It depends. Most of the time there are no problems, sometimes some sceneries will even require some other sceneries to work well. Usually this is all described in the readme.

Another good reason to check the readme or install info close is "Flattens" some files have "Flatten text" that must be added to the scenery config after the scenery has been activated.
