Can anyone recommend a great P-51D/K for FSX?

My great uncle flew these in the CBI theatre for the 14th AF, 310th FG, 529th FS out of Xian in the war. Looking for a really sharp looking one to repaint. Does not have to be a switchology test like A2A though. Below is an original work I did for him about 10 years ago for his 80th birthday. The original is about 3.5 feet in size.

Thanks
Eric

Personally I would recommend the Warbirdsim P-51s. My all time favourite flightsim aeroplane. I have a little amount of real time P-51 experience (2 different machines) and always enjoy trying to fly the Mustangs in the sim. Attention to detail is superb.

Best wishes,

Martin

for the 14th AF, 310th FG, 529th FS ..

I can't find anything with that exact combination Eric. 14AF, yes.. 310th FG.. yes and 529th FS.. yes but not 14AF 310th FG 529th FS:banghead: Your picture isn't showing here so I'm not sure what to look for. JanKees has done many many paints for the WBS P51's and I'd be surprised if what you're looking for hasn't already been done. As the others have said.. if you don't want to switch every switch.. the WBS models are great;)

EDIT: It's seems quite remarkable Eric but I've not been able to find a single paint for the 310th FG. There's one here for the 311th but that might be light years away from what you're looking for.

Rgr that Eric and thanks for the history:encouragement:

I DID see a 311th FG paint by Jan Kees but it's for the P51B.. http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/files/file/1104-warbirdsim-p-51b-311th-fg-allene/

He may have done one for the D/K but I've not struck gold with one yet.

Thanks. That is a very interesting repaint. The difference is that is for the 530th squadron who had the two diagonal stripes. My great uncles 529th squadron had a white spinner and 2 black vertical stripes. Thats the only difference. That and at the time he flew, which was late 44 and 45, they had D and K models.

These skins of Jan Kees are very well done. Perhaps he can hook me up with what I am looking for. Especially since I have both legend and quite a lot of accurate artwork on this aircraft.

There you go Eric:encouragement:

I downloaded the P51B/C paint for the 311th yesterday and agree.. it's very nicely done. A paint done for the D/K in your uncle's reg would be something rather special.
