Can zoom be assigend to mouse wheel in CFS3?

A feature that would be very valuable in CFS3 would be to be able to use the mouse wheel to zoom in and zoom out the view rather than having to fumble around finding the ] or [ keys on the keyboard. I would want this feature while still using the joystick to fly. Is that possible or could one of you experts implement it?
The World of Warplanes game uses the mouse wheel this way even when flying with a joystick, so it should be possible.
