Canelo Kid Needs Our Help

Recently Canelo had a blood vessel behind his right eye burst due to an head injury he got in 1981 in a motorcycle accident. They were able to repair the vessel but his vision has not gotten any better so he requires additional surgery to relieve pressure on his optic nerve and make sure the blood vessel is not still leaking. He has insurance with co-pay but being on a fixed income he's about $500 short.

CK just a few weeks ago helped to update the vBulletin software on my web forum. So, this is a very easy choice to help him. Just donated $50 to the effort and I hope it helps him recover well.

if the need is still there for money after Aug 3rd,i can pitch in,if yall remember back to the recent drive for the computer needs of one of our members...this is exactly why i and others wanted to have some sort of fund set up full time that we can add to when we have a few dimes extra...right now i feel like a jackass because my name wont show on the list as having contributed to Canelo-kid,even though i desperately want to help,but i literally have $2.64 in my account right now,and i don't dare take that $2.00 out.

but if we had that account "laying" around..then Canelo-kid could have his $500.00 right off,and we.as a group would put it back in,by the use of a "fund drive" after the fact..."Canelo-kid had an emergincy,used $500 from the fund,he is safe now,so lets get it paid back,please pitch in!"...and then the rest of the time..have a link in a sticky somewhere to paypal or to icki to write a check or whathave you and if someone wants to donate $0.10 or $1,000.00 so be it...

please think about it...

who knows...im going to need a new pc before long and i wont be able to pay for one......yeah...imma need help..but i know i wont get it.....

yeah i know,,and if i ever get the bollocks to set it up myself.....yes..ALL SOH members will be included..trouble is..at my bank...i need $500.00 USD upfront to start a fee free account,other wise id do this myself and set up the paypal direct payment to the account.

They removed 7 cc of fluid and found a small tear on a blood vessel leading to my right eye.

In my accident I hit a VW BUG after it pulled out of an auto parts store, didn't even have time to hit the brake. I was thrown over the top and landed on my right side breaking my right foot, right knee, fracture my right hip, ruptured my liver and spine, broke three ribs, broke my collar bone, separated my right shoulder, fractured two vertebrae (lower back) and fractured my jaw and right eye socket. I was wearing a helmet which broke in half along a seam saving me from further head injuries.

Early this year I started getting headaches and darken blurred vision in my right eye, they tried to fix it but after surgery my vision never came back to normal. They said I still had swelling and to be patient but things got worse. After another MRI they detected the fluid and told me I probably still had a tear on a blood vessel they missed.

The right side of my head still aches a little, specially my right eye socket but the darken vision is gone, my eye is dilating again and my vision is just a little blurred and I don't have a headache anymore. Next week they will recheck their work but they believe the problem has been corrected.

After my accident I made a full recovery but over the years many of my injuries have come back to haunt me. My vision was never the same until now with slow dilation in my right eye, now my right dilates the same as my left eye.

I have already paid my co-pay with the money you-all sent and didn't overdraw my bank account and won't run out of money to live. In 2013 I have paid over $15,000.00 in medical expenses draining my savings. I have crappy health insurance and can't get SSI until 2015, Medicare in 2018, hell I can't even qualify for food stamps due to having a paid for home and other property. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place with no pension having worked for myself for the last 30 years. I was OK until this problem reappeared early in 2013, I wasn't counting on spending 15 grand on medical expenses.

Again, thanks everyone, I'm back on track!

Please stop donations for me, I got what I needed from the people of a site and community I LOVE!

Good to hear, hoping for a speedy recovery and no further issues!
I had a similar accident when in college. a car ran a red light and I side swiped them on my bike and got thrown into the curb. I woke 3 days later in the hospital with no major injuries, yet my helmet was in pieces, talk about luck.
