Cannot detect a valid Microsoft Flight Simulator installation

Greetings,
I wonder if anyone here can help me please?
I had both FS9 & FSX installed on my hard drive but because of space restrictions decided to remove FSX and just have FS9.
I uninstalled FSX using add/remove.
However now when i want to use my aircraft editors i get the above message.Of course there is a valid install of FS9 but they can't detect it.
Has anyone had this problem and is there a way to fix it.
I suspect its to do with the registry?

Regards

Russell
