Can't dl cfs2 upgrade files

I can't seem to dl any cfs3 upgrade files from the MS website, or any other sims, that have an "exe" extension
when I click on the "save file " button I get nothing - no error or
location choice. The button just disappears.

I have tried it with my fire wall disabled is there anything else?

Just visited this site: http://www.microsoft.com/games/combatfs3/downloads.aspx#update3.

I was able to download the update, but you only need to download the update to version 3.1 and a small aircraft update v3.1

Thanks, I think the problem was more to do with my security group settings were to high and not allowing me to dl "exe" files
