Dear community

I took the risk and bought (9.99) the Captain Mig-21 (is clearly stated FS2004 ) to be used in FSX

All fine here-works surprisingly well--> just one question-if one know-before I have to dig deeper in textures

in VC all is fine apart the texture which is located at the gear lever-->appears to be black

Did anybody found a cure to that-or whats that textures name?

thanks for help before i go the long road

My first ever payware, ive got it running also in FSX although the problem is a model issue i think rather than a texture problem, i really dont think there's a solution, so i guess we'll both have to live with it im afraid, still a fine aircraft though :wavey:

have you look'd into a replacement for the crappy afterburner effect, ive try'd this before, a bit tricky to install but worth it---

from Avsim Rus, unless anyone out there knows where else to get it,

This amended version - Plus a package of effects for the MiG-21um of Kapsima. The old package is here http://www.avsim.su/files.phtml?fileid=16351. For a few, but equally important requests are now included in the package completely new textures which replace default impact Forsazh. Ie Now you do not need to alter their own. ridmi Details of the installation file.

I just picked this one up as well and came here to see if anyone had found a solution. The only other option is AFS Russian Jets X. The MiG-21 has an okay VC and the textures are okay, but on the left side there is an invisible fuel truck that will also make the landing gear and scenery disappear when it comes between you and certain objects. I guess I'll live with the black square in CS's version. I'm hoping Ivan Jurcaga brings us a Mongol to go with his outstanding early and late Fishbeds! I will definitely be downloading the new AB effect!

the texture which is located at the gear lever-->appears to be black

I don't have the CS Mig-21, but this looks like a classical portover bug. Try to locate which entry in the panel.cfg file deals with the gear lever gauge, and add a "file=" line, like in this example:

Code:
[VCockpit04]
[COLOR="#FF0000"]file_1024=texture_gear.bmp
file_1024_night=texture_gear_night.bmp[/COLOR]
size_mm=1024,1024
pixel_size=1024,1024
texture=$gear
background_color=0,0,0

You'll have to build from scratch 2 bmp files, 1024x1024 pixels, and place them in the "panel" folder (not the texture folders). Start with a black background (maybe only the left half, with the right half solid green, to begin with). Experiment, and experiment again. Sometimes you'll get lucky and find in the texture folder or the gauge folder the missing background. You'll have to crop, resize, move it around quite a bit before it looks right...
