captain sim weapons pack info needed.

I'm thinking about getting the Captain sim weapons pack. I have seen the videos. What I would like to know is do you have to be in the 2D panel to use it or will it work in the 3D cockpit to.Any other info would be great.Thanks.
 
Thanks,that was a cool video to. I went ahead and got. Been playing with it for a couple of hours. Figured most of it out,but trying to get a aiming retinal on the VC HUD and a few more bullets.
