Carrier landings

Can someone please help me with ArrCab, as I am at my wits' end - not a long journey, I admit.
:banghead:

I have WWII Carrier Ops and I'm trying to add a new carrier, Paul Clawson's Saratoga (Sarav3), at Pearl Harbor. I've added the co-ordinates for the .dat file, but the arrestor zone doesn't show when I run Arrcab, and a landing a/c ignores it, although it does show various carriers, presumably from other versions of Flight Deck which are not installed. It's probably something pertty obvious, but I can't see it.

I've tried using RCBCO, and would be happy to go back to it, even though I have ArrCab, but can't even see where the dsd_catapult_zones.ini resp. dsd_arrester_zones.ini files, which have to be edited, are supposed to be.

Please help - I'll post/send my dat file if it would be useful to show where I'm going wrong.

Hopefully someone can come along and help with this. I use the Carrier Ops gauge pack and don't have clue with ArrCab

Here's my ArrestorCables.dat file entry for Paul's Saratoga off Pearl Harbor:

[ZoneXX]
CarrierIdent= USS Saratoga (CV-3) off Pearl
FrontRightCornerLat = 21.2835
FrontRightCornerLon = -157.937
FrontLeftCornerLat = 21.27459
FrontLeftCornerLon = -157.937
BackLeftCornerLat = 21.27459
BackLeftCornerLon = -157.9365
BackRightCornerLat = 21.2835
BackRightCornerLon = -157.9365
DeckAltInFeet = 55
CableCatchZoneHeightInFeet = 2.4
RunwayHeadingInDegreesMag = 259

This entry works OK for me. Make sure your zone #'s, i.e. [ZoneXX], are sequential all the way through the .dat file. If the last zone in your .dat file is [Zone33], make mine [Zone34]. If you miss a number or they get out of sequence I don't think you'll see any catch zones after the mistake.

Thank you - I rechecked and I think it was the sequence thing. I used my own figures (very similar) and hooked on first time. Great!

Yes - thanks to those who replied. I've got Paul Clawson's Lexington working too, now, and the Crashhaz Ark Royal.

Glad to see everyone got this sorted out; I have never used anything other than the rcbco gauges for carrier ops so I can't reply about other systems.
I will be experimenting with the attachpoint method in FSX Acceleration.

Cheers, Paul
