Speaking strictly of aircraft, we have a nice Douglas Dolphin in FSX ... and those Loening Air Yachts bringing up the rear ... I'D KILL FOR ONE IN FSX!!!
If anyone, freeware or payware did this those of us flying in the 30s would jump on it in a heartbeat.
I fly CNAC/Eurasia in China and I NEED A LOENING!!!
The CalClassic scenery is the new airport, not this old one. We do have a small beach area south of Avalon that we scenicked, but I think this old airport was north of the town?

William Wrigley, Jr. played an instrumental role in the history of Catalina Island. He bought controlling interest in the Santa Catalina Island Company in 1919 and with the company he received the island for free. Wrigley improved the island with public utilities, new steamships, a hotel, the Casino building, and extensive plantings of trees, shrubs and flowers.*^
In 1921 Wrigley moved the Spring Training site of his professional ball club, the Chicago Cubs, to Catalina. That same year, he also purchased the Los Angeles Angels who he would build another Wrigley Field for in South Los Angeles (1925).
According to Chris Bell, “The seaplane base terminal building remained there until the late 1960s. There was actually a family that lived in the building for several years. The hangar building was moved up to the Airport in the Sky to be used as a hangar facility there. That hangar is still being used today [2011].
If there was a Loening or Dolphin for our beloved FS9, I would have made a simple one using existing structures, but there is nothing to fly to it.
1931 is just my era right now. It's taking a while to finish Wiley and Gatty's round the world flight.
