Ive been having trouble killing enemy pilots with short bursts. Is it possible to down planes by putting a few rounds into the pilot? Hmm.......Perhaps my pilot is just blind in his right eye.....

Well most times, you don't have any sights, two in the arm or leg ain't gonna kill anybody.

Also You can check bullet spread in Workshop

Just 6 inches off, you'll miss that head shot clean

Best way I know how to judge where you rounds are hitting. Is pick out the base of a tree in No man's Land , and shoot it, or better yet the lake, right at the shore.

Or throw a burst into a tent, anyplace that'll show impact :d

Thanks Gimp. I was just kiddin about the blindness of my pilot....I guess what im really asking is if the game recognizes and simulates bullets travelling through the fuselage and into the pilot, killing him?

A method to make SURE you can hit HIM from any angle is to increase the power of the ammunition in workshop

If you go ( tight, strong) you're sure to ruin his day

Ain't sure about the answer, but parts WILL fly :d

PS ... strongest is arcade . . but fun

yeah, i like to fly as realistically as possible tho. I keep the spread at normal, weap effectiveness normal. Thanks tho Gimp. It was just a question that wandered its way into my head while flying over the mountains of the Alsace.

Hello,
hey what`s happened to the forum - i almost had to spend a whole day without OFF forum and simouthouse :isadizzy:... bader than cold turkey lol.

I fly with ammunition at "weakest" settings, and bullet spread to widest - this way i have to be really close, like it was. Most "aces" preferred less than 30 feet, and beginners said they had a hard time even at that distance because at least some of the planes vibrated badly, which is not simulated.

Only downside is the bullets are still too effective in my opinion, and with spray at greater distances you still sometimes hit someone accidentally, like with a shotgun ...

Greetings,
Catfish

P.S. Gimpy, your card works - even with full detail - with no problem on my rig. Thanks again, Kai

In virtual cockpit mode you may not be looking directly down the sight and are thus missing by a wide margin.

I have found, though, that burning aircraft can sometimes fly for a surprisingly long time...:icon_lol:

Hello,

Yes, and with black smoke (indicating an oil leak or a battered engine) or white smoke (indicating coolant problem) they will still fly on and on. But then all of my enemies usually spiral down sooner or later, and crash - even with no visible damage at all lol.

But they seem to have fixed this in Phase 3 :d

I swear i heard a very faint Scream in the Preview Video #9, right before the Enemy went into a spin, then Crashed.

0:31 to 0:32 Seconds, turn your Volume up.

So i guess Pilot Hits are improved in P3, along with everything else. :d

Hehe. It sounds more like a dog barking than a man screaming :costumes:. I had heard it many times in P2 btw.

Hi all,
Rest assured that the OFF Dev team are presently looking deep into damage effects, pilot screams and levels of damage inflicted (amongst many other things). The aim (no pun intended) is to get Phase 3 as realistic as is possible within the limits of a PC simulator.

You won't be disappointed.

In your absence we experienced massive SOH wide, Technical Difficulties ( crash ) it's 2005, again

But it's still the best price in town :costumes:

The only problem with the scream is, it's usually the last thing I hear :costumes:

That poor dog, that hangs around the airfield. When was last time he had his 'coal delivered' :costumes::costumes:
