Sorry Mate.....but it would appear to be bigger than anything you have to offer. I did compress the everliving crap out of it just so as not to hurt your feelings too much. You may notice the absence of any real funky transitions, and please forgive the lack of variety in the footage. You'll also notice the odd lag-spike here and there, but I put that down to FRAPS being an absolute PIG, and the rendering process in general.

You might wanna' take a peek at the brief shot of the reflections in the cockpit instruments and the lack of "Bermuda Triangle Phenomenon" whilst I'm panning in TrackIR. Think I may have stumbled on something in that regard. Time will tell.

Another Star is Born

With all due respect to Flyby and Catch and others ,that is one of the best clips I have seen of OFFP2 to date. Great musical score and ,despite the lack of funky transitions, absoluely gripping footage.

I am guessing you are showcasing your latest card there Parky.Isn't it a great pity that everyone cannot really see the high quality resolution you are really seeing.Fraps and uploading always take the shine off the real clarity you actually experience.

Pretty sharp flying there too btw.

Congratulations on a wonderful clip.

It's your fault I got my chips cashed Frank. If I had you on my wing we would have got 'em!! :icon_lol:

Thanks Nick. Quite right about the Fraps thing. I find I'm more or less forced to run at 30fps in order to keep file sizes reasonable. Then you're also faced with reaching a compromise at the point of rendering for the very same reason. Not sure how Pol gets his as crisp as he does, but we're talking about a master film-maker there. I'm using the default Winblows codec. Think that may have something to do with rendering quality. S'pose I might look into Xvid or Dvix as alternatives.

One thing I can tell you. If I'm not running capture software, the game runs smooth as silk and looks incredible. Been shot down more than once over the last few days when I got bounced while admiring the scenery....lol. Can't wait to see what P3 has in store for us.

Cheers Guys :ernae:

Hi Parky,
Great film. Try recording in FRAPS at 30 FPS and at Half Size setting - much crisper outcome.

A really good video there Parky. Well done.

I did notice you had some very fast head panning in there with no blue triangles. Sweet. We will wait eagerly for your report on this.

Bigger  Lol :costumes:. Well done mate :ernae:. Good to see you back in the moshun pitcha business. That new rig of yours certainly kicks butt.

As for probs with fraps that you and I have both had, I had a revelation on the weekend :applause:

I have fraps set up to minimise. So it just morphs into the bottom right tray thing. I have FPS capture at either 25 or 30 (now permanently on 30) but in-game while recording the FPS counter was always between 11-15 FPS ?

While this made recording difficult I also couldn't work out why this was so .... and then the freezes began which made it more frustrating :banghead:

To fix this, and by complete accident, I opened fraps up to the movie section but instead of closing it via the X as I normally do (but still showing as functioning in the right hand tray) I left it open but minimised to the left hand tray.

Bingo ! Upon filming I was getting smooth 30 FPS throughout recording, able to film 3 minute segments withour freezes and the quality of the recording was far superior. Even the blue triangles were far less evident !One happy chappy.

Coincidently, in my new found joy I recorded some one-take footage of
the mighty Se5a Vs the crappy DR1. It's called "Werner's Last Stand". No music this time. Just the reality of war. Will post it shortly.
