Is anyone flying the 340 using the autopilot? I can't seem to get the AP to work correctly and I can't find procedures in the handbook.

I've had quite a few successful flights in the 340 using the autopilot. I can be tricky to figure out in the beginning. What's giving you trouble?

I'm using the default Maule autopilot in a pop up window. It's small, simple and works great.

Hi Bill

when I reach alt. I turn on the AP and hit alt. and It just keeps doing what it wants....It does not hold.

Hmm. Honestly, I haven't had that problem. I generally climb to my cruising altitude, level out, then hit the AP switch, NAV, and ALT. It doesn't have any problem holding the altitude for me. Maybe someone else has had that problem and can expound. Or hey, maybe you just need the Maule's pop-up AP. ;)

Just for clarification I had no problems with the default autopilot, it works fine. I was just after something a little more user friendly. Probably mixed in with some laziness because I put autothrottles on my Turbine Duke too. :mixedsmi:
