I just bought a copy of CFS 3 on 9/10/09.. I know... it's been out for a while. I get the game going and within about a minute or so it crashes to the desktop. I am running a 32bit Vista with a e-GeForce 8800GTS video card. I've updated the driver within the past couple months and I have DX10. I also use nHancer to run the video card. When I didn't have the game setup in nHancer it CTD'd immediately. Any idea on how to fix this? I'm sure it's posted here somewhere but I couldnt find it. If you know what to do let me know or paste a link.

Much appreciated

VISTA USERS .....

User accounts has been off. I also have attempted to 'run as administrator' with no success. Thanks for the reply.

Please supply more details on the crash. When does it happen? Does it occur after choosing a particular plane or a particular weapon? Have you added anything to the basic CFS3 install? And when it crashes, what exactly happens? Does it go to the desktop or do you receive a message that MS CFS3 "has stopped working . . .and must close"? etc., etc.

I've tried a variety of planes and it happens regardless of which one I select. It also happens regardless of selecting a mission, campaign.. anything. I have not added anthing to the basic install and it crashes directly to the desktop. No error messages or any indication of what may be wrong. It simply crashes after maybe 2-3 minutes of play. I wish I could be more help but I'm really at a loss as to what causes it. I'll play around with it some more and see if I can narrow it down. Believe me I've tried doing just that by using different planes, but they all crash.

CFS3 does run with Vista, although there are quirks. Try uninstalling and reinstalling everything. Make sure all CFS3 files are removed when uninstalling the game. After reinstalling, see if you can run the game as is. Then go to the Micrsoft CFS3 website and add the patches - 3.1 and 3.1a. See if that helps.
