Description: CFS1 Curtiss Twin JN, 1916
The Curtiss Twin JN, also known as JN-5 or Model 1B, was an experimental twin-engined two-seater observation biplane built by Curtiss Aeroplane and Motor Company for the United States Army Air Service. The design was a modification of the famous Curtiss JN-4 'Jenny' biplane, with an enlarged wingspan and the tail of the Curtiss Model R-4 amongst other modifications. The Twin JN was powered by two 90 hp Curtiss OXX-2 engines located between the wings, and had a top speed of 70 kt. Eight units were built, two of which saw action on the Mexican border in 1916-1917, and the US Navy acquired 2 units and operated them as twin-float seaplanes. DP files included. The "L" Key makes the crew appear. By Stephan Scholz.
