CFS2 and Vista

Not long ago donated my old original CFS2 disc set to a toy drive,Now I'm having 2nd thought's.... Getting a bit nostalgic and wondering If and how CFS2 will run on on my new HP computer with a AMD 9500 Quad core processor vista home premium with a nvidia 8500GT video card and 3 gigs of ram.
Anyone here running CFS2 with vista? any issue's?

Ran on Vista for a year no problems... running on Windows 7 RC1 now... works just fine.

Vista is ok

Ragnar; I know very little about computers. I have used cfs2 on 3 hp and a gateway pc. I have not even turned anti virus off, and every other item in the backgound, start up and whatever is running, and still cfs2 runs great. Vista was the only os that was available when I got into the game. I have the settings in cfs2 set to best graphics and I quess the rest is default. My first problem was with a scenery addon with tons of scenery in it. I am very sure that with a few very simple tweaks, vista will handle anything. I am still new at this, Every time i think about making any changes, try to understand the lingo... well, I get a little nervous. I`m sure you will have no problems with hp or vista.

Using Vista Home Premium

I have the Vista Home Premium, 64-bit system on my computer with just about the same set-up you have. I can't even get CFS2 to load on my computer, let alone use it. My question to everyone who says they can get it to work fine with no problems is, 32-bit or 64-bit? If it is 64-bit, how did you load it on and get it to work?

I am soooo frustrated right now.

Hartmaj,

I didn't install CFS2, I just transferred full copies from my backup drive and then re-directed the icons. Could that be why? :jump:

vista 64

I think I have a slightly more "powerful?" machine. All I had to do was install discs and tick stuff off. I chose full install, by default it chose the x86 files. HP premium elite m9360f. I have installed and uninstalled several times. It has always been easy for me, and believe me, I am a computer moron. If you think I can help in anyway, let me know, try not to use fancy computer lingo, I have not learned that yet.
