CFS2 Campaign Editor

Anyone know where to get a CFS2 Campaign editor? I've created some great European Theatre missions but now would like to put them into a campaign.

I'm not sure i've ever heard of such a thing. As far as i know, we've all been stringing missions into campaigns by hand edits up til now.

You can use an existing campaign file as a template for formating all the missions into a campaign string and then giving them a one-paragraph overview in the strings section at the bottom. This one's from Talon's AVG camp:

[Strings]
"campaign_name_string"=The Flying Tigers - American Volunteer Group (CAF)
"campaign_overview"=In 1939, Retired Captain Claire L. Chennault's plans called for the injection of a rejuvenated Chinese Air Force spearheaded by American volunteers to upset the Pacific stalemate with the Japanese. But it took direct personal intervention from President Roosevelt to pry the pilots and ground crews from the Army and Navy. On April 15, 1941, an unpublished executive order went out under his signature, authorizing reserve officer and enlisted men to resign from the Army Air Corps, Naval and Marine air services for the purpose of joining the American Volunteer Group in China. Now, following their attack on Pearl Harbor December 7th, Japanese military forces are storming across the entire Asian and Pacific regions and your calling is to join the fight with this small, but scrappy band of unconventional warriors called the "Flying Tigers".

Just open any CMG file in the Campaign folder with notepad or wordpad and check out the format. A caveat: If the cmg template you use has any references for an accompanying text, movie or screen images, be sure not to include these in your edits, unless you have some of your own to add. These references will look like this:

soundfile=
imagefile=
textfile=
moviefile=

See Cody Coyote's Mission Builder Tutorial. It has an easy to read chapter on how to create a campaign with the missions you have created.

I tried that but it didnt work until I read CC's handbook and realized I was missing Node 0. Got my campaign working and hopefully will be loading it here when I have run out of European missions to dream up lol. The campign and missions are fictional but will be based on the real 48thFS/352NDFG by flying out of Bodney and later Asch.
Thanks to all who replied ~S~

Col_Wolf, i see you're a new kid around here -- welcome. Just a heads up on your ETO upload. Many of the older hands around here have upgraded their ETO terrain mesh and bases in various stages. This could have some adverse effects on how well your work stands up on some machines if its based on stock mesh and the older first gen bases which are being phased out. Many of the older campaigns which are based on stock mesh and first gen bases have since been modified to accommodate newer enhancements. I personally have yet to finish all that i want to in upgrading my ETO install and all of the reworked campaigns.

You might want to consult with some of our resident ETO specialists on what the new standard is for the bases and mesh setups. I don't want to go as far as to say that the stock mesh and old bases are now obsolete, but failing to look into this could shorten the shelf life of your upload.

Col_Wolf,

Say hello to one of the ETO "experten." :wavey:

Achim27619, Canion, Ettico, Davmag, and Gary Burns are the supreme base and "EuroTarget" standard for Europe, and practically all ETO campaigns are now based on Rhumbaflappy's / Sander De Cocq's mesh and coastlines.

In fact, I made an install guide for it and can send you the files required.

As far as campaigns and missions, new blood is always welcome, believe me. I have a backlog of ETO projects, some are CFS1 conversions, others are campaigns that I've got in my head.

Besides Cody Coyote's handbook, members like myself and Talon are available to provide assistance and suggestions. (If you use Skype, not only can we talk, but I can share my screen with you and provide a hands-on visual lesson!)

It's cool that someone else is doing something on the 352nd FG. (better known as the "Blue-nosed bastards") I recently did a freeware update to the Just Flight Mustang Vs. Fw-190 addon, but that only covers some of the action out of Abbeville and Bodney.

If you click on the link in my signature, you can go to my website, where I have the campaigns that I have reworked / created available for you. Besides simply flying them, opening the mission builder might provide you with some ideas on constructing missions or a new way of looking at what you're trying to do.

Let me know if I can be of any assistance!

I'm currently using the BoB version 2 terrain and bases and they work fine for me. What I really need now is an AI, really frame-rate-friendly B-17 E or G. The one I'm currently using destroys frame rates. I can put 16 planes in the air with no problem but add one of these B-17s I have and my comp screen gets the jitters something fierce!!
