CFS2 Clouds

OK I admit it. I screwed up (again lol) A while back I DL'd a cloud enhancement package for CFS2. Dont remember where I got it or what it was called. Clouds looked better but were now 2 dimensional (like flying through a piece of paper) and are frame rate killers. Anybody know of a complete cloud replacement that is 3D and does not kill frame rates?

Question. I have a LDW_CLouds pack that is dates back from 2006. Yet all the packs on Lwdesigns are 2004 or older. What gives?

Wulf 190,

If you have a newer pack, you could always speak with him or Tango about uploading it there for preservation.

WRT the 2 dimensional visuals. Many times that phenom can be cleared up by turning off all of the textual/graphical type displays- visual radio messages, the HUD, frame rate readout, etc. Its a display adapter thing.

Rami,

Which ones (2004 or 2006) is that link too? Ar e hey a complete replacement for CFS2 clouds in 3D at a friendly framerate?

486_Col_Wolf,

2004 version, and the download description says "Alternate frame rate friendly version with no MIP-MAPS."

how do you get decent clouds in CFS2 ?

I have tried every cloud package I can find and still can't get decent looking clouds. No matter if you set heavy clouds ,on the ground the sky has no clouds, once in the air after you fly a while the clouds show up but I have straight lines above me and when you fly close too or into clouds , it's as 486 Col Wolf said like flying through sheets of paper.
Is the only way to get rid of these straight lines to do as Mask Rider said get rid of all the textural graphics?
I had the modified FS9 clouds from Simviation ,but had the lines ,so I tried two other cloud packages ,one from SOH and one from Tango's site but could hardly get any clouds to show ,no matter what the setting.
So any ideas as to how to get decent clouds in CFS2?

went back to lwdesigns

after going through all the cloud packs I could find ,I finally went back to lwdesigns. The clouds as your said will never look like FS9 or FSX but their the best I can do.
I still have lines across the top of the cloud line but there are times they aren't there. The thunderstorm is still terrible ,but with this old computer it's the best I can do.
