cfs2 panel.cfg question

Hi all,

what does:

render_3d_window=1

actually *do* in a panel.cfg file? From a post by "Allen" in these forums I've been able to make some otherwise problematic panels in win7 work by changing the setting to:

render_3d_window=0

- but I'm wondering what the setting is for anyway?

Thanks in advance for any explanation,

cheers,

Steve

Other than fixing panels for Win7 it will let you drag the panel around with your mouse.

I understand that render_3d_window=1 allows text to be displayed on top of the panel rather than the panel covering up the text.

which problem in the panel?

I do not know if u are talking about the same problem that I have, because i have not other: when I move my pointer over the gauges I get a CTD with windows message " stack hash...$%&&" so i need to restart cfs2. Is that the problem? I use win7

Hi Misson,

no that is not the problem I see. What I see with certain panels is that once starting quick combat or free flight, the panel never displays and the aircraft is stationary (including any AI aircraft). Note that not all panels with render_3d_window=1 cause the problem!

Good luck with finding the solution to your problem, I haven't seen anything like that.

Steve

Thank u Steve for your reply! I was trying to understand the "stackhash"problem and the web says that is caused by missed DLL and some times by missed library data in the system. That´s why I always use the virtual cockpit , I learned to live withthat problem.
thanks
Mario
