Hello to Everybodies,
i have more than one thousend planes installed and when i try to fly free flight or quick combat the cfs2 goes to failure.:amen:
i Ican fly missions and campaigns normally.
In addition, when i launch CFS2 my pc spends a lot of time to give CFS2 ready ( celeron M 1,4 GHZ, 60 Giga HD, 2 GIga RAM).
Any Help?:help:
Thanks

Dandolo,

I think that you might want to do some additional installations of CFS2 and divide your planes up a bit. I currently have 9 seperate installations to cope with the vast number of aircraft that I've downloaded and done myself (I may go to 10 or 11 if I can free up the space for them).

Cheers,

CFS2 has a limit on the number of aircraft it can hold before getting wonky. That number is not a set number, but is in the 90 to 100 range. Adding ships can also through CFS2 a loop. As Pombee suggested, creating separate installs for the PTO, ETO, MTO, CBI etc is a good idea, and will allow you to decrease the number of planes in each install to the point that you can avoid going over the dreaded plane limit.

If you do not want a separate install, then just create a new folder called "Hanger" and move all but 90 of your favorite planes (including the stock planes) into it. When you want a to fly a plane in your hanger just drag it into the "Aircraft" folder and you are good to go.

Hello,
erufle, OBIO and PomBee thanks for Yours notices.
about hangars i have understood and i can use the ACman .
I have no claer about CFS2 more installation . i think you mean to repeat several installations on the same HD, but in this case i should change the name of the directories .
In addition, i have no confidence with terms as PTO, ETO, MTO, CBI .
Please could You spell the meaning of these acronimus.
thanks

Remember: repaints or skins of the same plane count towards that 90

ETO is just an abbreviation for European Theater of Operations. In other words, it is just the name of the geographical location where the missions and campaigns of this particular install take place.

Making a new install is easy. Just rename the main folder of your current install. Lets say: Combat Flight Simulator 2 is changed to PTO (for pacific theater of operations). Once this is done, make a new desktop shortcut from the Cfs2.exe icon in the main folder. Rename this short cut from Combat Flight Simulator 2 to PTO.

Then, you can reinstall from the CD and repeat the process as many times as necessary.

The way I made extra installations was to copy the original installation, then rename the copy, i.e Combat Flight Simulator 2 - Eastern Front, then copy those installs and rename the copies and so on until I had the required number. I then went into each installation and made a shortcut to cfs2.exe, moved it to the desktop and renamed it to match each installation. This can be a bit time consuming, but it works fine. You can then remove the bits that you don't need from each version and add in the theatre-specific bits and aircraft.

Cheers,
