CFS2 won't load

Recently I had to have some work done on my computer. While it was in the shop, I had them update my CPU from my old E6350 to a Q9650 overclocked to 3.3 Mhz. They had to reinstall Windows XP Pro in the process. I naturally had to reinstall all my games and all went well until CFS2. I reinstalled it, but when it starts to load, it crashes to the desktop. All other games work just fine on reinstallation-CFS3,FS9,FSX,etc.
Would the Q9650 be causing the problem?
Thanks for any help.
Don

I don't know a whole lot about computers, i had the problem before. Sometimes if the aircraft folder gets to packed CFS2 crashes. Another thing you can try is starting up CFS2 by the littlle icon in the Micrisoft Games/ CFS2 folder. I really don't know what else, sorry but hopefully it helps

You may have to reinstall CFS2 several times. After a major infection and crash, I had to reinstall CFS2 three times, and it has been running ever since without any problems (1 1/2 yrs). Be sure to unistall your "bad CFS2" installation every time. Hope this helps.

Another thing you might try....purge your system of all CFS2 files that may be connected to game play.
Repair your registry and defrag your system.
Overclocking may affect graphics but shouldn't cause a crash.
I doubt if these suggestions will help...but worth a try?

Thanks for your replies, but I discovered the problem. My anti-virus protection wasn't allowing CFS2 to load. This occurred to me before, but since the other games loaded ok I didn't think this was the problem. Everything fixed and ok now.

Don, that is great. I always shut down my antivirus "stuff" before I load a program. I am also disconnected from the internet when I do it. Now have fun with CFS2
