CFS3 and ETO/PTO install location in W7?

I followed instructions for installing CFS3 on my W7 OS. I was advised to install CFS3 under C: directory and not under Program Files(x86). My CFS3 works fine. I now want to add the expansion packs for ETO and PTO;but, what I have read is that these packs need to be installed under Program File(x86)/Combat Flighr Simulator 3?! Before I screw everything up, could someone please advise if I can install ETO and PTO Expansion packs to my current CFS3 location under my C: directory. Thank you for any help. BobK

You can certainly install the expansions to other than the default directories, just please tell me you haven't installed CFS3 to the root C:\ directory - you should at least have CFS3 in its own directory like C:\CFS3. That said, you'll need to take care when installing any expansions, to make sure the expansion can find CFS3.

ETO is particularly sensitive to this. To help with installing you should get and read the ETO Installation Guide because there are some file edits you must do when installing ETO to a non-default directory. Also if you're installing it to a 64-bit version of Windows these edits are mandatory - ETO just won't run properly without them.

BTW, welcome to the forum! :wavey:

Why not x86

Hello

Just curious as to why, if you are installing to C drive, you would just not install to default programsfiles(x86)

What was the reasoning that was given to you for changing directories?

Thanks

TW

Oh yes and welcome
