I've had issues since playing CFS3/CFS3 BoB all these years with vehicle/ship/building files that were not stock items, like mods, or files from the other expansions NEVER spawning. Drove me nuts! I did everything from tweaking XDP's, and even making BDP's for them, to no avail. Unless it's a facility file, when you start a fresh game, either CFS3, or BoB, a vehicle, building, or ship doesn't produce a BDP after loading, it won't spawn and you'll never see it.
Finally found out what the issue was, any of the CFS3 games/expansions don't recognize the beginning of files with "w40", "GC" "Dr" etc. So what you have to do for example if you have "w40_F_h39" light tank file, the game won't recognize the "w40", so, change them to their nationality in the XDP M3D entry to "Fra_h39", then change the name of the XDP AND M3D file in the folder to the same entry. Example:
w40_f_h39 to Fra_h39
w40_f_h39.M3D to Fra_h39.M3D
With ships, same thing, change "GC_flower_class_corvette" to "b_flower_class_corvette" for example in the XDP and then the files themselves. That will make the game recognize it, and produce a BDP and you'll see them in the game.
Spent a week doing this to all my files other than aircraft and had a 99% success rate. There are a couple of files that no matter what you do, just won't spawn, that's gonna happen unfortunately, but for me, out of 1,449 files, only three did not. ONLY exceptions are most of the ACC and files starting with RAF, they seem to spawn just fine except the "RAF_MP" one, that's the only one you have to change to "b_raf_mp."
If these files spawn in their originality for you great! But for me, in my twenty some years of playing CFS3, had no such luck until I made those tweaks. Just wanted to save you guys from WEEKS of work, lol.
