:kilroy:46_trap, did you try here: http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?act=idx

Copy and paste this link to your internet browser.

You will download two download managers from there, one for ETO 1.0 and the other from ETO 1.20.

Each of these download managers, about 1.5 MB each, downloads a self-installer. One is 1.0 and the other is 1.20.

They are both rather large and will take some time to download. It is highly recommended that you do nothing else with your computer until each download is complete.

You need a clean, unmodded, fully-updated (3.1 and 3.1a) CFS3 install, otherwise known as a vanilla install of CFS3.

If your CFS3 install is in the normal default location (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games), all you have to do is start the ETO 1.0 self-installer and follow the prompts. If you have your CFS3 install in another location, you will have to point the self-installer to that alternate location.

Does it change scenery? (Heh, heh, heh) That ain't all it changes. It changes about all of CFS3. ETO is a whole different animal.

I hope this helps.:d

CFS3 ETO Expansion

I have reinstalled cfs3, three times (with updates) I will do it once again. The question I have, is this a stand alone game, do I put it in the microsoft games file, or does it overwrite cfs3, in that case put it in the cfs3 file.
I have been using OVERWRITE CFS3 and in all three times I get a corrupted, air file, when I go to the a/c files. I looked at CFS3 and the scenery has not changed.
It takes some time, at least 2 1/2 hours. It kepts downlaoding it to desktop, when I extract the program, CFS3 ETO 1 , I get a brownish ball and I then extact it to it to C:\program file\microsoft games\combat flight simulator.

The simple answer:
It's a complete different game and will make a copy of your CFS3 and transform this copy with new files into ETO! Your original CFS3 will not be altered or manipulated in anyway!!!

The simple advice:
First download PTO 1.00 and Update 1.20 from the link Grizzly gave you!
Than:
PLEASE print out the ReadMe included in the PTO 1.00 Zip and READ it!!! Sorry for giving such a stupid advice, but if you follow the instructions in the ReadMe, nothing will go wrong!!!

:kilroy:46_trap, that "brownish ball" is the download manager, and it's name is "ETO_CFS3_100.exe". It's what you get when you download initially from the Aussiex site. You then extract that, preferably to your desktop, and run it.

When you run it, it will download "CFS3_ETO_Expansion_1.0.zip". What you get from this download is the ETO 1.0 self-installer. This is what installs ETO, and it is rather large (about 1.24 GB) and will take some time to download. I highly recommend that when you are downloading the CFS3_ETO_Expansion_1.0.zip, that you nothing else, at all, with your computer until the download is finished.

After you download this item, extract it to your desktop and then run it. Once started, let it run without interruption, and follow all of the prompts exactly, as per instasllation instructions.

It is a stand-alone game, and it only copies your vanilla CFS3 install into a new folder that it makes. This is why you need a clean, unmodded, fully-updated (3.1 and 3.1a) vanilla CFS3 install.

As long as your vanilla CFS3 install is in the normal default location (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games), all you have to do is let the self-installer direct itself to the proper location, as it is the default location for the self-installer as well.

After you have installed ETO 1.0, the ETO 1.20 update is handled the very same way. You download the ETO_CFS3_120.exe, which contains its download manager, and running this downloads the CFS3_ETO_Expansion_Cumulative_Update_1.20.zip, which is the update's self-installer.

And follow Grisu_HDH's advice, too.

I hope this helps.:d
