CFS3 graphics

Hi,

I have a reasonably powerful system with an nVidia graphics card and I get excellent frame rates. As I am relatively new to CFS3 (althought I've used CFS2 a bit) it would be great if I could get some advice on how to setup cfs3config to optimise the graphics, eg textures, scenery etc. as well as any tips on essential add-ons.

In order to improve sceneries and textures, you should try the free new theaters available here : MAW, ETO, PTO, Korea. They come with full new detailed scenery.

You have to start from a completely stock CFS3 install for all the expansions installation (MAW, ETO-E, OFF, KTCS, PTO) and after You have the expansions installed You can modd your CFS3 ........but what about future expansions ?
The solution is Martin Wright Multiple CFS install program - http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/ (which is part of ETO-E too), it permit to have multiple install of CFS3 and so You can have a vanilla one from which to start for expansions install and your own CFS3 which can be modded.

When you install KS it needs to be put on the same drive as your install of CFS3. such as C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Combat Flight Simulator 3 that way it will pick up the cfs3 files to put into your KS folder. After that you can move KS to were ever you want on your pc or flashdrive, etc. ......
