CFS3 won't run after re install - please help If you can

Dear Flight Simmers.

Well, my big and somehow strange problem with CFS started recently.
After I've got a Firepower add on, added to my game (which already has a lot of add ons: BOB, Memphis Belle, OFF), my game got completely messed up. Lot's of problems with textures, scenery and so on. Then I delete Firepower, but the mess was still evident. So I had to make this decision, delete the game with all those add ons and tweaks, and start all over again.
I did a mistake, I didn't delete the game in a proper way. So then after I did another install, the game quits just after the title screen, without any error message, just shuts itself down. Then I uninstalled in a proper way (inc. documents and settings, aplication data and so on), did another install, and the same thing happens. I did some scan with a registry repair software, it didn't help. I've got the latest driver for my Nividia 8800GT, this didn't help either. Anyone did experience anything like this? Maybe my files are somehow corrupted. Any help will be highly appreciated.

for uninstallig the game I would run the uninstall exe file in the main cfs3 menu, or use the windows uninstall routine. Otherwise you don't get rid of the registry entries etc.

if I were you I would install again and immediately uninstall (plus check and delete the additional folders on the c drive) then install once more, upgrade to version 3.1 and install firepower, then it should work.....:ernae:

Sure way to get rid of every thing

Delete C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\"Combat Flight Simulator 3"

Delete My Documents\"Combat Flight Simulator 3.0"

Delete C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Microsoft\"Combat Flight Simulator 3.0"

Delete all cfs3 icons on your desk top. This is important. If you don't it may try and run a .exe that is tied to your old install.

Empty recycle bin

Install the game. Install the 3.1 patches

Run the config file

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Combat Flight Simulator 3

Look for "cfs3config" icon and run that.

Check back in and let us know what happens

Maybe it would help to verify the config.exe parameters of the game to be sure they match the video.

I did everything which was in "Stupid Idiots manual to uninstall CFS3" and it did help :)
Once again Sim-Outhouse proved to be the best place to get some help!
