• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

CFS3 wont start

Hi All,

I went to start CFS3 and it gets to the first splash screen loads for about 30 seconds, a quick blip of the screen as if its going to the main game screen and then it drops out.

Checked the task manager CFS3 not running. I haven't installed any new software or added anything to my CFS3 install since last running it yesterday. I have tried running the config utility and deleting the various files in the application data folder, but still no joy.

Win7, i7-4700HQ 2.40ghz, 64bit, Nvidea card, 8gig RAM.

any thoughts much appreciated,

All sorted,

after running the config tool again I had a quick look at the display settings and it had somehow set itself to a resolution the monitor would not support. changed it back to the normal resolution for my screen and CFS3 started up with no issue.

hi Rob, do you set your configoverrides file to Read Only? Otherwise CFS3 seems to have a mind of its own (like Oliver says)!
