I know the directions were posted at one time for renaming the default profile in "Controls" from "Mine" to XXXX. Can someone please repost that?
 
Hello,
not at home, but there should be two ways:

First just change the name from "mine" to "xxxxx" within the controls menu in flight, or at the aerodrome, and save it with its new name.

Or you look for the "mine.xla" (or .xca ? maybe another file extension, not sure) in the appropriate folder and renam it to something else - only keep the extension.

I guess I was aksing the wrong question:isadizzy:. What I really want to do is to make my 'WWI Fighter' configuration the defalut, instead of "Mine", so I don't have to go into controls each time I start a mission and change it. I have not found a way to set a configuration to "default" as of yet.

when they said that the AI get better on a better machine. I have been getting my a$$ shot off right regular (not by an SE5 though, Catch!) since my upgrade. Below is the conclusion of my latest sortie! I guess it's back to the "dark side".:icon_lol:

Not sure I follow. 'Mine' contains the control settings that OFF uses. You can edit the control settings from the Hanger page within the game and save the settings. No renaming of files should be necessary. You should not have to set the controls everytime you play...something is not working right there.
 
Hello,
the "mine" file is the file that is automatically loaded when you start "OFF". So what you change here will automatically load everytime.
When you save your setting in another file than "mine", and you want to use those settings, you will have to extra-load this file during the game.

My most recent sortie was 3 DRI's,and me, against 16 SE5a's. Called my Wingman up , but he got engaged. I outclimbed the SE5a's, and then waited till one or two of them came up after me. Two victories, and then limped home as they got a few early shots in. Never would have survied in an Allied plane, save perhaps a Camel, with a bit of luck.

What I did Catfish, was to assign custom functions to my joystick buttons and I saved the configuration as "WWI Fighter". This is what I did in the other CFS3 sims, is OFF different? Ever thing works fine, just when I start OFF, in Controls it defaults to "Mine", so I manually change it to WWI Fighter. I thought there may be way to set WWI Fighter as my default config, thats all. There was a FAQ or something under Tips and Tricks at one time explaining what file name to change under
C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Apps\Microsoft Games\OFF\xxx\xxx
or something like that.
 
Barnstorm the file must be called "Mine" so simply save your setup as "Mine".
(no quotes)

Or load your setup, then save as Mine.

Either way "Mine" will load each time..
 
Thanks Pol. I have been operating P2 under my saved config in Contols for over 6 months, without any noticeable ill effects; but will take your advice.
