I've always appreciated photo scenery once you're high up but from low level it looks bad - and no autogen....
 
Agreed Ryan, Looks great from about 2000' or higher, but get lower or land and you might as well be on the Moon, lol.:salute:
 
You guys need to DL some of the BlueskyScenery Chili View work. Ultra sharp, even when down low and fast. And free. I would just like to say once again on this forum, I really like freeware.

The FS9 stuff is awesome , too.
 
I personally agree on photoscenery and tend to fly VFR most often. However alot of people love, and swear by photoscenery so I am sure the link will be much appreciated sidler :salute:
 
I've been using tileproxy on and off since it originally became publicly known. Some flights I absolutely love to have it, and other times not so much at all. As such, one of its greatest features is that if you don't want to have it on one flight, you simply don't have to, by not running the software, and then when you do, it is as simple as double clicking the software to open, and off you go.

Fly high and fast as much or more than low and slow but still never really understood the appeal of photoreal scenery - looks washed out and hand painted in water colors to my eye - but to each his own.

In small doses. . .like individual airports where the scenery designer can take the time to properly color correct the image, then add proper autogen and either default buildings or custom buildings, the results can be very impressive. . . .but the bulk photoreal scenery offered by some companies can suffer considerably due to the season the images were taken, the simple amount of tiles necessary to cover a particular area and the time it would take to color correct each and every tile to bring it up to at least close to realistic colorations, etc. Sometimes not worth the price, no matter the price, lol.

One exception to this rule would be the work that LCSims has done for the West Virginia area. Well worth the time to look into that, especially with the recent release of VFR Appalachia.
