Cherbourg sub pens

Now that we have all the new U-Boats and new skins, and also the GC U-Boats. I hope someone will make Cherbourg harbor with sub pens and docks for all the new German ships that have been built. ckissling

Sub Pens

I've been using the F1 Dambuster sub pens, but they're kind of old and lack any real detail. They can be joined together to simulate Cherboug to some extent, but a new set would be nice. I'm affraid my old ones have taken more than a few bombs.

I hope they can be built by someone, and they are destroyable. But in real
life they were a tough nut to crack, so they will have to be hard to damage. Wolfi's cranes and other thing he has built would fit just right.

:friday:Hey, who's that Claire Voiant woman you mentioned ... didn't see a screen shot of her. Was she part of the crew?

A question?
Could the lower part of the pens be built with macros and a top layer be
made with G-max for more detail and to take damage? If it could be done,
it should lower the poly count and the LOD. These pens where VERY large
and would use a lot of space, and could effect frame rates. Just a question.ckissling

A box is a box, no matter how big it is.

I don`t think their size will hit the frames that hard.
Actually they probably don`t have many polygons due to the boxy design.

Tough nut to crack indeed, unless you happen to possess 12000 and 22000 pound nutcrackers!!!!!!!!!!:costumes:

Even then the damage was not as much as one would think. There is a
photo of one section of a sub pen with a hole in the roof and two subs
inside that are damaged, but not sunk. One is rolled to one side probably
forced over by a chunk of concrete. ckissling

GMax Sub Pen Work

I was watching the ice storm today and decided to exercise my brain a bit... dug out SimonU's GMax tutorial and started noodling around.

Here are some sneak peeks at a Before and After Sub Pen I'm working on ~ Suggestions ? Ideas ?

Two less subs seaworthy, and one pen out of action for certain then not to mention any other structural and equipment damage.

When you consider until that point everything else barely scratched 'em that's not bad going.;)

Where can I get SimonU's GMax tutorial? I'am trying to make the mistal
