Chile - 8.8 Quake..!

To bring it closer to "home", I believe Carenado is located in Santiago. Has anyone heard anything? There is, or was a couple hours ago, nothing on their support forum.

Chile looks pretty badly damaged...
The local NZ threat has been downgraded, but Civil Defence are still jittery, because the waves can still arrive many hours after the quake.
It is weird and unnatural though - the surf line in places on the east coast pulled back about 100 metres, fish flopping about - but mercifully the swell that came back was only about a metre or so.
Some of the boaties were commenting on the strength of the tidal flow though, maybe 12 knots. You could see all the muck churned up from the seabed.
Huge forces at work.
Hope the Chileans are on top of the rescue effort.

Oh yeah, I know!

Smart move no question. I was just commenting that the wave effect meant it had tremendous force.

Hey, check out my "Second announcement" thread. I've joined the muli-engine club! How's your Baron doing?

Ken

The Baron is doing just fine.As a matter of fact Hiede took my niece flying about 2 weeks ago on a site seeing tour.
