this aircaft is still being built as a homebuilt 75 years after its first flight

i'd forgotten all about the Chilton... it's a must get for me, especially for just cruising in the English Countryside, and landing in a farmers field somewhere :icon_lol:

Thanks for the HU Leif.

yes it sort of goes very well with the UK farm Strips

Keith has worked very hard on this one -- Im ashamed to say I started one three years ago and it sort of languished...Keith got in touch with the folks at the Chilton Association and they have been very very helpful - it flies right on the numbers -- just a bit hard to get slowed down on the approach. AS I said the VC is a beauty - and as I said soon as Gary gets the Cardan Ford sounds it will be a real keeper....just not for winter flying!!!!

I saw this one when downloading the RR_Falcon sounds Gary just made and released. By the way, Gary did it again!! The Falcon sounds are a great addition for Roberts Bristol and compliment it sweetly!

The Chilton is just rolling out of the hanger for a flight. Can't wait to try it.

And an FYI for anyone downloading files from www.classicbritishfiles.com. Over a period of time I have downloaded quite a few great things. Sometimes the downloaded file worked. For the most part upon extraction it had the infamous CRC error. Even after several attempts the extraction problem was still prevalent. Problem causing that was Firefox (for me anyway) Then I went there using Internet Explorer, downloaded the file, and no problem whatsoever.

So Leif, my apologies to you folks at your home site for my rants concerning these issues :salute:

Not a problem - actually I use Chrome -- and I expected problems with Robert Bruce's Brisfit because when all four files are combined it makes for a LARGE download -- but it pulled it down in about 7 minutes for me.

As to the Chilton -- the Mikron and Train engined ones will be along shortly - the Cirrus sound matches the Mikron fairly closely - but the Train is another matter.

When we were beta testing the aircraft there was a lot of joking about the Altimeter in ESZ (its correct) and the fact that 40000 feet was a little optimistic.

Hope everyone enjoys Keith's work as much as the beta team enjoyed it -- it really is a jewel to fly. Just NOT in the cold!!

Glad you like "The Pond" T.....I think it was one of the charter members here that called it "A veritable treasure chest" ---- lot of folks would be surprised what they will find if they go browsing through the library --- there is a lot of excellent stuff stashed away there -- and like SOH we do enjoy doing "restorations" the latest will be the Alphasim Valiant in the new year - complete with a full cockpit courtesy of Lars Fors, and a new FDE based on the Valiant Pilots Manual (which just happens to be in the library at the Pond) and the addition of the Aeromusica Comet 2 sound pack. Another British "homebuilt" The Luton Minor is close to being finished for Fs9 and FSX, plus more Austers, Rob Richardson's Twin Pioneer for FSX and a couple of other plesant new years surprises.

Merry Christmas to all here, and if your coming to visit the Pond bring your Skates - Its frozen over!!!!!!

I really enjoyed the site and I downloaded 1930's Inverness (Longman), Wick (Hillhead) and Kirkwall (Grimsetter) Aerodromes and really like them.

I was trying to register for the site but didn't get an activation email, and can't find contact info to email somebody. Would you have a good contact to ask a question about registering?

Thanks,

T.

That would be me T

Are you registered as SgtT?

If not you can email me and I will fix it :)

Glad to hear your login problem is fixed - remember replies can often vanish into the spam folder, so it's worth a look there if a confirmation seems not to have arrived.
