If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

China's new super carrier

The Chinese are investing a lot of yen into their defense, but the U.S. has a LOT more years of experience on our side! NC

Amen, Chief. There is an incredibly long tail to tooth ratio of training, technology skill and experience that we have built up. It did not come overnight and without a lot of deadly lessons learned. Not just ramp strikes etc, but shipboard fires, engineering casualties, at sea collisions and more.

And the planes the PLAN uses aren't nearly as dependable as the US Navy's!

Also, has anyone compared the US defense budget to that of China? You'll laugh!

The way the carriers look now they could almost go away from the angled approach and run the landing area axially again, but offset to port to allow for bolters and such while still parking aircraft along the starboard side of the ship.
