Chipped disc, new disc with current install?

My FSX Gold Edition with Acceleration installed Disc 2 has become slightly chipped around the upper side of the center hole, I guess while removing it from the case spindle. It still plays, but I'm afraid it might eventually bind, shatter and destroy my DVD/RW drive.
I can run previous installs of CFS 1 and 2 with backup discs. I'm wondering if I obtain a new copy of the FSX Disc 2, will it run my current install of FSX?

You lost me there slightly...FSX does not require a disk in the DVD tray to run..Once installed its done..remove it and put it back into the box ..

You could then make a system backuup of your drive with the FSX install on it and never need to touch the disks again as I have done...If its on C drive with your OS this is simple to do..If its not sitting with the OS then you need to also back up your regestry to have FSX run from a backup...

Hey...We all have missed the boat at one point or another...LOL

I learn stuff everyday about FSX.....:faint:
