Chopper Pilots - HeliTrim

I have tried repeatedly to get this gauge to function in several freeware Helicopters (Tims OH-6 and the HH-43 Husky). The gauges are in the gauge folder, the correct lines are in the panel.cfg file and the gauge pop up displays in the Sim but no functionality in the Helicopters. I used the pre-made set from the download for the Bell 206 and that works. Has anyone had an initial problem getting it to work and then found a solution. . .cause I have checked and double checked everything and I just don't see any reason for it not working.

Thanks

Still Around

I would think that even though the dedicated Helicopter site online has been shut down sadly, that a lot of those experts would still be around. Hope so anyway. That was a really cool and informative site.

Well I'm using Helicopter Trim gauge by Mike Krawczyk since quite a while (helitrim.zip @ avsim).

You need to move /HTrim/ folder and "HelicopterTrim.dll" to the main /Gauges/ folder of FSX.

And at the very minimum, update panel.cfg by adding this line to first "[Vcockpit01]" section:
gauge... = HelicopterTrim!HelicopterTrim, 0,0,0,0

It works very well! Here with Virtavia Kamov Ka-50:

More instructions in the readme.txt file (to get the additionnal popup window, like here)...

No issues either in Tim's Hughes OH-6A...

Virtavia SH2F Seasprite

I haven't flown this in a while. I have flown in the real one between the carrier and our destroyer escort in Vietnam. Lowered down and picked back up in the "donut" back then because the Fram'd Gearing did not have a helo deck to land on. It was a lot of fun. The winch operator would time the pitching up and down of the DD just right and then you would land on deck and two crew would "tackle" you to grab you and release the "donut" Exciting. I went back and forth with the Chaplain who would perform services for the DD crew on Sunday. The flight was called "the holy helo". We'd have lunch and then return to the carrier.

That was not the point though I wanted to share that memory. Hadn't thought of it in a long while. I will add this to the Seasprite and try it out later. I had not installed it on any of my helo's and it looks promising. I don't fly helo's much. Just create and use ai helos. Just finished the installations including the helisim.cfg into the main Seasprite folder according to instructions. Had to search in the README to find what to do with it from the SimObjects folder. Hope it works for me. thank you "vonstroheim" for the information.

Yep, that's the line i missed when reading the instructions. Working fine now and I also fly Tim's OH-6 as well as an HH-43 Huskie.
