A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Scenery Add-Ons

Description: This is a package of sixteen airfields in France from the 354th FG, Battle of France, and Jagdgeschwader 11 campaigns. It includes Beille, Bretigny-sur-Orge, Chartres, Chelles-le-Pin, Cricqueville, Dammartin-en-Goele, Echemines, Etain_Rouvres, Etampes-Montdesir, Gael, La Ferte-Gaucher, Orconte, Perthes, Rosieres-en-Haye, Vitry-en-Artois, and Vraux.

I created these fields with Rami’s ETO setup, using Sander de Cocq's Eurw area and Euro_Textures, as well as his coastlines and feature pack (the whole set) and on Rhumbaflappy’s mesh. They are made to complement the Achim airfield sets.

Rami and Kdriver were instrumental in this update to these airfields. Kdriver removed the API objects and Rami replicated the original objects placements with GSL destroyable objects. Kdriver also did the screenshot for this package.

The airfields are made to blend well with the ground around them. If you put the fields on a different set of textures, the airfields may not blend with surrounding terrain as well. Make sure you have the latest updates installed.

Good evening,

Now that Kevin released his package, I was able to release Captain Kurt's airfield package that was being held back, because with this package, some of the GSL work overlaps with Achim's France North airfield package, and Kevin's airfield and scenery package.

All three packages contain only one or two AFD files which contain all of the airfields in them, and no longer have individual .bgl files. This helps to prevent the sim from being "overloaded" with too many airfields. Just make sure to delete any old versions of these airfields first.

The install order should be...

1) JHS_France_North
2) CK_France_airfields
3) KD_France_Belgium

Black Square?

I have recently added some new scenery to one of my ETO installs. One of these was CK's France Airfields. It loaded up with no trouble and I've enjoyed flying from field to field and checking out all this nice new scenery. Today while flying near the airfield at FR-Etain-Rouvres I noticed a black square. I shut down CFS2 and restarted at this location in Free Flight. The gsl scenery seems to be there, but no airbase. Just a lot of black. I've checked my SceneDB/scenery and Texture files and all seems to be as it should. Anyone got an idea what has happened? Or what I can do to troubleshoot?

Can you confirm you have the Etain-Rouvres.bmp in the relevant texture folder?

Worthless,

You're on the right track here but I couldn't help you earlier, because SOH is blocked by my school's screen software. It gets flagged for gaming, and "promoting violence." :biggrin-new:

I remember this being an issue, and I checked tonight to figure out what the problem is. Somewhere in those .bgl or the .bmp file, there is a naming issue. The way that I fixed it was to rename all of the .bgl files Etain-Bouvres, (changing the "R" to a "B," for both the .bgl and .bmp file, and this solved the issue. :encouragement:

Great, thanks. Seems simple. I'll see if that works for me.
