Classics Hangar FW190 latest beta

Only one single texture serves every model!

Landing is not really simple, the external view is nice.......

However when you stay in the cockpit, this is your view and you can just pray that you are above the runway....

Just a few bumps :redf: , but on the grass safely....

And one for the rivet counters.... I'm convinced Alessandro did forget one :costumes:

heheh - well since you brought up O.M. - I cant help but notice the cockpit bar of infamy in your model is also prominent and seems to impede the view over the nose and downward.

prolly the number one bone of contention from that old forum and still likely to draw an immediate lock

I think it looks brilliant, both the exterior model and the especially the VC. Definite buy here. I have one little issue, and that's with the exterior skins, especially in the 4th shot of the first pose. The look a bit vague and blurry to me, and I see jaggies at the edges of the serial. Is this the setting of the comp on which these shots were taken, or is this a model thing? The VC looks wonderfully crisp, but the outside less so...

Huub, why not move the eyepoint up a bit? I think this is possible without hitting the canopy your head. You eyes seem to be at the level of the gunsight; I’m sure you can raise your head a bit. Also, flaring when you’re safely above the runway (and not before) may help, as may a curved approach.

Hehe, I think O.M.'s bar of infamy is a bit too prominent. particularly since his canopy is much too thick.
If I recall correctly from the last time flying it in IL-2 the canopy uses some truely solid squary irons while it really where some thin round rods.
There's still this little cockpit video of ours.
Since you can use TrackIR or otherwise move your head in FS it's really not that much of an issue I think.
On the landing issue, you won't believe how fast you get used to it to fly the last bit of the final approach by "feel". :costumes:

I think Roger was running on 1024 texture_max_load with the 2048 textures, that's why there are some jaggies.

Jan Kees, like Mathias already mentioned Roger had a wrong setting when he shot the screenies. In fact my screenies don't do full justice to Alessandro's textures as well. Due to the fact I have to convert the screenies from bmp into jpg format, to be able to post them here, they loose quite some quality.

Stickshaker, I could change my eye-point but that would feel a bit like cheating :costumes:. The trick is you have to approach the runway in a curve. That way the runway will remain visible nearly until touch-down. :kilroy:.
However the armoured glass in front of your nose remains very small and as the glass is quite thick the cockpit frame is heavy as well.....

Your right, not all of us are modlers. But that doesn't mean we don't understand the work and detail that goes into making a FS aircraft. In other words, never under estimate us buyers and flyers!:icon_lol::wavey: That's just a comment/observation not an attack Micheal, please don't be offended!

Good eye, I also see the gap between the canopy rail and the skin.

No offence intended I'm sure and none taken.

Best

Michael

THanks much Michael!

Eagle Eye you!
Yes, that's actually a shot from the VC, eyepoint moved outwards. The external model does not have those gaps.
The usual polygon saver technics that is, delete some polis not visible from the eyepoint.
There is currently one other such spot and that's the back of the seat in the VC.
I figure I can as well put those polys back in since it's just peanuts.
Thanks for pointing that out Michael. :wavey:

Mathias, thats ok, I realised it was the VC view, but many people now seem to move outside in the VC mode these days, usually heralding cries of see through planes LOL, looks good either way.

I see my pictures dont show, or I fail to see them at the moment, how did that happen ?, if there was a problem with them then let me know so I dont make the same mistake again.

Best

Michael
