Guys, does anyone else get slightly perturbed at this certain cloud that pops up here and there? I find it extrememly irritating at night..he damn thing is so bright, it screws up my night vision...is there any way to get rid of it? I've tried every cloud pack I could find and still cannot get rid of it totally....perhaps if I knew the file name I could rename another cloud file after deleting this one.....

It seems to me that those clouds come from a special addon that creates thermals in FS.
Those clouds are used by the addon module to indicate where the thermals are. I'm sure there's an option to deactivate this cloud feature (without deactivating the thermal generation, of course ;) )

Really?...hmm.. maybe I'll remove the thermals I've added...it's worth a try to get rid of the bugger!

Those thermals certainly have an option somewhere to activate or not the display of those clouds.
Check the readme maybe.

I tried a cloud set once, can't remember the source but I finally noticed something. I swear the author made a rabbit head, like Playboy's with ears too for a distant cloud. Had to load several weathers to convince myself. I was shaking my head as I got rid of the set.
Otherwise it may be a remnant from the initial source. It may take some time but you could check several third-party cloud sets as they don't all offer complete cloud file replacements. Like this one file has escaped your attempts at a fix simply because your attempts had say at most 25 files and this one would have been number 26. So try a cloud set with the highest number of replacement files to see if this pest will get overwritten. I can't help with thermals. This is why once I get things nice I have the mem space to keep a copy of the scenery files.

I know that cloud! I think it's been there since the day I first installed FS9, long before I ever activated thermals or added any thermal scenery. I wish I knew how to get rid of it!

The one I encounter the most is the one that hides the airport as I'm getting close. At least I know that if I head for the cloud, I'm heading for the airport.

One of these clouds in the left corner of the 2nd picture has an amazing resemblance to one cloud that always seems to appear above KPWT Bremerton! It ALWAYS pops up in the same place in the sky, same shape, whenever I start my flights there.

Success!! I finally went and removed all the thermal files that I had installed over the last couple years and lo and behold, that cloud is no longer there so it was indeed part of the thermal packs...I don't use the glider much anyway and being I use real world weather I would assume that whatever is supposed to be there, is. It's really nice to have that pesky too bright cloud gone. The offending files were all(no disrespect meant here) from Francisco Vargas packs...I had to go to flightsim.com and view the files in the packs and compare them with files in my add-on scenery/scenery folder and the scenery/world/scenery folder. I'm not too sure which bmp is the culprit visually but when I find it I will give a shout!
