It is the effect from the Iris Freeware Tornado GR/IDS pack last released by Dave Brice. If you have that Tornado installed then these burners will show up with the C9 Phantom with the following lights section edit:

Roger that bully707! It was a pain to get those positioned considering the down angle of the nozzle. I tried quite a few combinations and got help from a friend here who has done dozens of Afterburner tweaks. My C9 Phantom AB mod isn't perfect but looks far better than the original. BTW, I tested the other effects out. The only issue is that the flame effect goes straight back and doesn't angle down enough. If that could be fixed, those effects would be a better choice than my work. BTW, that guy who worked on those effects in the C9 forum being of the name Bart Bartholomay, is this the same guy who was a real Phantom Pilot in the Navy and Mig Killer in Vietnam?

Hmm...I thought the creator of the abovementioned afterburner effects is Gus Robatto, also known for some great repaints for the old Alphasim F-4 packages.
The "Bart" Bartholomay you're talking about is actually called Henry "Black Bart" Bartholomay...well that is what wikipedia told me...
So I don't think that he would be the same guy, that posted over there at C9.
Still...wouldn't it be cool if such a famous guy would also be strolling the sim-sky with the Cloud9 F-4?

Hey bully707, to clarify my previous statement(s), that is not an effect I created rather than I used for the modification for the C9 F-4 which came from the freeware Iris Tornado and yes, Gus R was the one who created the other ones! Sorry for the mix up. I think Bart B. hosted it if I am correct? Also, a friend of mine did the Alphasim F-4 packs with a similar mod using the same effect I believe. I am just a tweaker/modifier type nothing else.
With regards to Bart Bartholomay, the guy posting there at C9 I traced back to a couple of other forums and also Team KBT on their Super Hornet and now VRS's Super Hornet. I also made the connection to a company called HAB Marketing in Florida which bear his initials. Whoever he is being the actual Bart Bartholomay or pure coincidence of names, this guy sure knows a lot about Jet Fighters! Anyhow, if it is him, COOL!

Flight leader Lieutenant Henry "Black Bart" Bartholomay, born in Chicago, Illinois on March 20, 1945, entered the Naval Reserve in 1967 and began active duty in the Naval Aviation Officer's program in Pensacola, Florida. After receiving hisWings of Gold in 1969 at Kingsville, Texas, LTJG Bartholomay was assigned to the replacement F-4 Phantom Air Wing in San Diego, California and then to Fighter Squadron 161, Carrier Air Group 5 aboard USS Midway. After one tour of duty in Viet Nam, LT Bartholomay was assigned as Weapons Training Officer and completed advanced fighter weapons and air combat maneuvering training at TOPGUN in February, 1972 where he achieved the status of "Top Gun.".
During his second tour of duty onboard USS Midway in Viet Nam, LT Bartholomay, his Radar Intercept Officer Oran Brown, his wingman LT Pat Arwood, and his RIO LT Mike "Taco" Bell, confronted and shot down two North Vietnamese MiG-19 enemy aircraft on 18 May 1972 for which they were awarded the Silver Star.
Completing his Naval Reserve duty in December,1972, LT Bartholomay had accumulated 267 carrier landings, 1200 flight hours, and was awarded the Silver Star, Distinguished Flying Cross, 10 Strike Flight Air Medals. After leaving the Navy, he went on to work as a weapons system engineer at Point Mugu, CA, consulting on the Sidewinder Missile. At the end of that consulting contract, he returned to the Chicago area and worked in the insurance, investment, and technology industries.
