I continue to procrastinate about getting into the heavy lifting of rebuilding my post-WW2 installation of "FlightSimulator1954, A Half-Century of Flight" but I'm trying to motivate myself by painting planes to fly in that sim when it's ready. This time it's F-51D and F-51H Mustangs in Cold War liveries representing the U.S. Air Force, Royal Canadian Air Force, National Guard, Air National Guard, and NACA.
The models I painted are Wozza's P-51D and Sparks's P-51H
Here are a few of my favorites:
This is Joe Foss's F-51D when he was a squadron commander in the South Dakota National Guard. Some Guard units at the time dispensed with the national insignia on the fuselage, and a few of them used the space for unit insignia.

Here's another National Guard D-model, this one from West Virginia:

And a Mustang IV of the RCAF's No.443 Squadron:

Here's a pretty F-51H model from the New York ANG:

And a screaming red F-51H target tug from the Pennsylvania Air Guard:

There are a dozen skins for each version of the Mustang, and they should be available soon for downloading. I hope we have some fans of the early Cold War era who might enjoy some of these paints.
OK, now it's almost winter, I'm tired of painting planes, and it's time to get back to the job of setting up FS1954 and finishing GW3.
